Papers from a June 2006 symposium provide a broad perspective on the development and application of trend curves used to predict fracture toughness transition temperatures in irradiated reactor pressure vessel steels. They also discuss radiation effects on various materials, including erbium-tritide films and oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) ferritic steels. Papers are grouped in sections on reactor pressure vessel steels, austenitic, ferritic, and advanced steels, and fundamentals of radiation damage. Specific areas investigated include modeling of radiation damage in Fe-Cr alloys, kinetics of the migration and clustering of extrinsic gas in bcc metals, and notch strengthening and its impact on the deformation and fracture of 316L stainless steel. B&w images and illustrations are included.
