DAC Technologies Group International Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., said its first-quarter profit rose 339 percent, with net income reaching $184,299 from $41,974 during the same quarter last year.
The marketer, whose main distribution center is in Little Rock, reported net sales of $3.5 million, up 30 percent from $2.7 million for the same period in 2008. Income from operations was up 165 percent to $347,858.
"The company is finally beginning to benefit from lower commodity prices and lower shipping rates," said David Collins, DAC chairman and CEO. "This is reflected in the company's higher gross margins of 30.33 percent for the first quarter this year as compared to 26.84 percent in 2008. Also, the company benefits from its very strong financial condition, strong balance sheet and low interest cost."
