The Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission is accepting proposals from interested applicants for review in evaluating the award of its Statewide Cleanups Coordinator services contract for the period July 1, 2009-June 30, 2011.

This contract comprises providing service support activities to the Commission's two annual statewide cleanup campaigns, the spring Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup in Arkansas, conducted in March, April and May, and the fall Great Arkansas Cleanup, conducted in September and October Both campaigns include citizen education, recruitment and the active involvement of voluntary participation by individuals, groups and community organizations to organize and conduct local volunteer-led community cleanup events, within the campaign's time frame, and the reporting of results to the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission office. The coordination activities will involve approximately one month of preliminary and two weeks of post-campaign work in addition to the campaign timelines. The contract amount is $20,000 per year

The successful provider will be required to identify and recruit cleanup organizers and direct them to the Commission to register their events; to provide Commission resource materials to local cleanup event coordinators; Io maintain contact and provide continuing support to the cleanup coordinators through the completion of their registered events and be responsible for collecting and compiling individual event results and issuing a final campaign activity report to the Commission.

To be considered, the provider must dis play sufficient knowledge of the Keep Arkansas Beautiful mission areas, structure, work and programs; possess special communication and organizational skills and demonstrate satisfactory management, coordination and business experience to adequately engage, supply, oversee and report on the successful accomplishment of hundreds of statewide events within a concentrated timeframe

To be eligible for review, an applicant must submit written responses to the Statewide Cleanups Coordinator Questionnaire posted on the Commission website, www.keeparkansasbeautifiul.com, by the June 15, 2009 deadline

The Commission website also contains a full listing of the responsibilities required of the Statewide Cleanups Coordinator, detailed information about the Great American Cleanup in Arkansas and the Great Arkansas Cleanup and an Overview of the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission as well as detailed information about the Keep Arkansas Beautiful mission, programs, events and activities, which will be helpful in familiarizing interested service providers with the scope of the Commission's operation and work. After evaluation of qualified proposals by the Commission Evaluation Committee, one or more providers may be selected to an interview by a Commission Selection Committee during the week of June 22, 2009. If a provider is selected, a contract will be offered to /he successful applicant no later than July 1,2009, requiring that organizational service work with connection with the September 12, 2009 Great Arkansas Cleanup start begin immediately,
