* TEXAS LEAGUE PENNANT NIGHT (JUNE 4)
Still celebrating the Arkansas Travelers' 2008 Texas League Championship? Probably not, but if you're one of the first 2,000 fans at Dickey-Stephens Park you're eligible for a free Texas League Championship pennant.
* JUNIOR DEPUTY (JUNE 13)
Little Rock's Junior Deputy organization will show off its new Indoor Facility at 1202 Business Park Drive from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at its annual Night of Champions. Former Atlanta Braves star Dale Murphy will be the speaker. Tickets are $20. Call the JD office 372-7640. Read more on Dale Murphy in "The Last Word" by Jim Harris on page 22.

* NCAA OUTDOOR (JUNE 10-13)
Arkansas hosts the best of the best in college track and field. Trust us, the atmosphere will be great and worth checking out even for non-track folks. Historically, nobody is better in track than the Razorbacks and nobody puts on a better track meet. Arkansas' chances to win aren't great, but the talent on hand will be.
* TRAVELERS HOST "CELEBRITY" SOFTBALL (JUNE 20)
Want to see unintentional comedy at its best? Get to Dickey-Stephens Park at 6 p.m. and watch local "celebrities" compete in a softball game before the Arkansas Travelers contest against the Tulsa Drillers. The game is presented by KABZ-FM, 103.7 "The Buzz" and should include personalities from the station and a number of former Arkansas athletes.

* SHOOTOUT OF THE SOUTH (JUNE 19-20)

Here's all the proof you need that football is THE sport in the South. Some of the region's best high school football programs will travel to Little Rock's Pulaski Academy for 7-on-7 football competitions. We're guessing a future Razorback or two will be on hand for this event.
* HIGH SCHOOL ALL-STAR WEEK (JUNE 21-26)
This is the week the state salutes its standouts among outgoing seniors in high school athletics. Baseball and soccer games are set for June 23. Softball and volleyball will be played June 24. Basketball will be played June 25 and football is scheduled for June 25. ArkansasSports360.com Athletes of the Year Cassie Clarke (volleyball/basketball) and Neal Barlow (football) were among those invited to participate.
* SALINE COUNTY RAZORBACK CLUB (JUNE 25)
Unless you happen to run into him on the golf course or recruiting trail Arkansas basketball coach John Pelphrey is tough to catch up with in the summer. Pelphrey's scheduled appearance at the Saline County Razorback Club is one of the few times to see/hear him before the 2009-10 season begins.
* NWA NATURALS SALUTE ARMED FORCES (JUNE 26)
Chances are the Northwest Arkansas Naturals hosting the Arkansas Travelers will have folks at the park. There's another great reason to come out this night, though, as a tribute is paid to members of the military. Discounted tickets are available for anybody with a military ID. Oh, beer specials begin at 5:30 p.m., so there's an added bonus to show up to Arvest Ballpark.
