Nathan Pomerantz, MAI, is the winner of the 2008 Appraisal Journal Outstanding Service Award. This award recognizes the member of The Appraisal Journal's Editorial Board, Review Panel, or Academic Review Panel who during the previous year has shown exceptional commitment to The Appraisal Journal through outstanding service as a reviewer.
Pomerantz began his appraisal career in 1977 with the Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation, eventually transferring to a fee appraisal firm in the Washington, DC, area in 1985. He achieved his MAI designation in 1990 and later relocated with his family to Rehovot, Israel. Although based outside the United States, he maintains a consulting association with a leading Washington-area firm that specializes in valuation for litigation purposes.
He has been reviewing submissions to The Appraisal Journal for the past nine years, first as a member of the Review Panel and, since 2006, as a member of the Editorial Board. He has also contributed occasional book reviews to The Appraisal Journal. Pomerantz is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, with a degree in sociology.
