IP Infusion, Sunnyvale, Calif., an ACCESS company and provider of intelligent software for Next Generation Network (NGN) equipment that enables service providers to offer state-of-the-art Ethernet services, has announced that the company has been appraised as fully compliant at Maturity Level 3 with Carnegie Mellon's Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) Capability Maturity Model(R) Integration for Development (CMMI(R)) Version 1.2.
The Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI(SM)_A) was conducted for the engineering, support and professional services organizations at IP Infusion. The appraisal was conducted by Beth Layman (partner at Layman and Layman) and the results were announced after the SEI completed its audit processes.
"Achieving SEI's CMMI Level 3 Certification is confirmation of IP Infusion's continued commitment to providing the highest quality products and services to our customers around the world," said Koichi Narasaki, president and CEO, IP Infusion. "This accomplishment is an important validation of the processes, support systems and engineering capabilities that we utilize everyday to deliver equipment manufacturers the greatest quality products and services."
CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes. CMMI helps integrate traditionally separate organizational functions, set process improvement goals and priorities, provide guidance for quality processes, and provide a point of reference for appraising current processes.
Since 1984, the SEI has served the nation as a federally funded research and development center. The SEI staff has advanced software engineering principles and practices and has served as a national resource in software engineering, computer security, and process improvement. As part of Carnegie Mellon University, the SEI operates at the leading edge of technical innovation.
