Plans to revamp NCEW's Website are proceeding with a pledge of support from the NCEW Foundation to cover some of the costs.
When the new site is launched, members should find it to be far more user-friendly and dynamic, with blogs, message boards, RSS feeds, and other interactive features. The emphasis will be on usability and relevance to our daily jobs and long-term aspirations as an organization.
One of the main new features will be the Digital Masthead, where the same kinds of informative articles, symposia, and columns that you currently enjoy quarterly will be available in a far more timely fashion, with the potential for inclusion of rich, multimedia features, as well.
In addition to the revamp of the Website, the proposal we are currently working on includes integrated Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn presences with interconnected con tent feeds. We are also exploring shifting the current listserv to Google Groups listserv and hope to find ways to beef up the interaction between the list and the Website.
As physical attendance at conferences becomes more difficult for many members, our goal is to create a Website that will connect members to one another and allow us to work together, learn from each other, show off examples of innovations, and help each other through the difficult times our industry is facing.
As the Website progresses, we'll post periodic updates to the listserv. If you have any suggestions or comments, please send them to dan.radmacher@roanoke.com.
