Leading Saline County real estate firms merge.(Inside Business)

The two largest Saline County residential realty firms merged recently to create Baxley-Penfield-Moudy Realtors.

The new firm represents the combination of Phillips Moudy Duke Real Estate of Benton and Penfield Real Estate of Bryant.

The two firms have ranked among the 30 largest residential realty firms in Arkansas based on sales volume.

The combined sales volume of the two companies would have ranked No. 12 in the state during 2007, the most recent ranking compiled by Arkansas Business. Sales volume of the firms totaled more than $127 million that year.

"Our bread and butter will always be residential sales, but we're going to try and really develop the commercial side of the business because we have the size and scale to devote more resources," said Tom Baxley, principal broker.

The two companies have about 50 licensed real estate agents, with an office in Benton and Bryant.
