* Bank of the Ozarks has been named the second-best performing bank in the country by the American Banking Association's Banking Journal in its 17th annual Performance Rankings. It was the only Arkansas-based bank ranked in the top 25. The study ranks the performance of domestic publicly traded banks with assets over $3 billion. They were ranked by return on average equity for 2008.
