CNPC releases its 2008 Bulletin on Environmental Protection.(Health, Safety & Environment)

On June 5th, CNPC released its 2008 Bulletin on Environmental Protection. This is the 11th consecutive year that CNPC publishes an Environmental Protection Bulletin.

The bulletin delivers an introduction to measures and performances of CNPC and its subsidiaries in eight aspects, including environment management, support to Beijing Olympics, circular economy, control on greenhouse gas emissions, pollution control, and ambient air quality of mining zones. According to the bulletin, in 2008, the emissions of sulfur dioxide, discharge of oil-related pollutants and COD in the company fell by 5.6%, 12.1% and 8.6% respectively. No major accidents resulting in environmental pollution and ecological damage occurred.
