Xulong Chemical runs sulfuric acid project.(Inorganics)

Hebei Xulong Chemical Co., Ltd. (Xulong Chemical) started trial run on the first-phase 200 000 t/a sulfur-based sulfuric acid project recently at the Shijiazhuang Recycling Economy Chemical Demonstration Base, Hebei province. After officially operation, it will provide sulfur acid to Shijiazhuang Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd.'s 160 000 t/a caprolactam project that is being expanded and will come online in August 2009.

Xulong Chemical plans to construct the second-phase sulfur-based sulfuric acid project with a capacity of 500 000 t/a, matched to the planned 400 000 t/a caprolactam project in Shijiazhuang Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd.

In the development program designed by the Shijiazhuang government, the Demonstration Base will construct a 8 million t/a refinery, 400 000 t/a caprolactam, 300 000 t/a cyclohexanone, 200 000 t/a caustic soda, 500 000 t/a sulfuric acid and 300 000 t/a synthetic ammonia by 2010.
