Our Heber Springs bureau reports a new company is coming to town and will eventually employ 250 people.
Oxane Materials Inc. of Houston is expected to renovate space in town so it can build items for the gas industry. Oxane lists itself as an "energy-focused nanoproducts company."
Production is supposed to start by the end of the year, and the company is expected to employ the 250 by 2013. We haven't heard what the jobs will pay, but the wages are supposed to be pretty good.
We also learned that the city of Heber Springs agreed to issue $7 rail lion worth of revenue bonds to cover the costs associated with the industrial spread where Oxane employees will work.
Oxane officials couldn't be reached for comment.
