Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream has introduced Nestle Delicias Paletas and Helados, a new line of scoopable frozen dairy dessert and refreshing fruit bars that targets Hispanic consumers. According to the company, "The new Delicias frozen desserts deliver the tropical and exotic flavors that Hispanic families love directly to their local grocery freezer aisles." The paletas are available in seven tropical, exotic flavors, among them Mango, Coconut, Strawberry, Strawberries & Cream, Pineapple, Tamarind, and Vanilla. The quart-size packaged helados' flavors include Arroz con Leche (Rice Pudding), Coconut, Strawberries & Cream, Mango, Tres Leches, and Vanilla. The brand is currently available in select markets nationwide, including all Kroger, HEB and Safeway chain banners. A Flavor Finder tool at www.nestle-delicias.com helps consumers discover if the line is available near them.
Nestle Delicias tapped San Antonio-based advertising agency Bromley Communications to develop the marketing campaign that highlights the unique, hypnotic power of the flavors. The new Nestle Delicias launch will be supported by out of home advertising and a national TV campaign on the Univision network, beginning May 18 through August 30. The TV day-part mix primarily includes daytime, fringe and primetime, early morning and early news.
VPE Public Relations in South Pasadena, CA is helping with the brand's public relations efforts, including national media relations and localized sampling efforts that coincide with sampling at Hispanic festivals across the country. At large Hispanic festivals like New York's 116th Street Festival and Chicago's Fiesta del Sol, the Nestle Delicias brand will be featured in the Cocinando con Nestle booth with charismatic chef Lorena Garcia hosting demos and preparing refreshing recipes with a variety of Delicias products.
"Generations of ice cream fans have grown up with iconic Nestle ice cream desserts and snacks," said Nestle Delicias brand manager, Gretchen Koch. "Nestle's exciting new Delicias offering, featuring a variety of authentic Latin flavors with pieces of real fruit, will delight taste buds of all ages."
