President Uses Video To Push Public Service: Today in a video message, President Obama called all Americans to incorporate service and volunteerism into their lives this summer as a part of a national initiative lead by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). The initiative, called United We Serve, will run for 81 days and kick off on June 22 at the National Conference on Volunteering and Service in San Francisco, culminating in a National Day of Service and Remembrance on September 11.
