Lighting up the scoreboard.(HogSports Radio)(Brief article)

Will you be hunting for high school football scores this fall? Grant Merrill's Scoreboard Central is a pretty good place to find them. Merrill, the station manager for HogSports Radio, 105.3 FM in Northwest Arkansas, will host his call-in scoreboard show this fall and has 38 affiliates lined up statewide.

It's our understanding this is the largest high school sports network in the state and represents more than twice the number of stations Merrill had lined up for his first season in 2008. Potentially, the show could reach 300,000 Arkansans.

Key affiliates include KARN-AM, 920 (Little Rock/Central Arkansas), KCXY-FM, 95.3 (Camden/South Arkansas), KHGG-FM, 103.1 (Fort Smith), KBTM-AM, 1230 (Jonesboro) and KDQN-FM, 92.1 (De Queen/Southwest Arkansas).

And the best part, it's interactive. Merrill will take calls and use social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter to reach out to listeners.

"If there is a way to interact with our scoreboard show, we've got it and we're using it," Merrill said. "Well, anything short of a [citizens band] radio."

(Full Disclosure: ArkansasSports360.com and HogSports Radio are media partners).
