The Dallas Morning News recently reported on the varying differences of the contracts between Jerry Jones and his new Cowboys Stadium and the college teams planning to play there this season. Those teams include Arkansas and Texas A&M teeing it up on Oct. 3.
The story reports that while the general ticket holders won't find beer available for Baylor's game there (suite holders get to imbibe to their hearts' content, though), no such exclusion exists for the Arkansas and A&M fans expected to pack all 68,000 seats available in Jerry's World.
So, Hog fans, enjoy the party. Even poor folk in the "cheap" (as in $85 per) seats have the option of knocking back a cold one or five.
Arkansas and Texas A&M are in line to get $5 million each from the game. Partly this is through an additional $175 being tacked on to the best seats, pushing their price to $300, and that money going to each school's athletic fund. Other interesting tidbits:
* Stadium rental is only $100 for Arkansas-A&M (Oct. 3).
* Cowboys Stadium L.P., owned by Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, will receive revenue from parking, food, beverage and non-participant merchandise sales.
* Stadium L.P. receives 1,000 club seats--some of the best in the house--at no cost.
Arkansas and Texas A&M are schedule to play in Arlington, Texas, over the next 10 years.
