Football, track working together.(THE PLAYING FIELD)

ArkansasSports360.com took a comprehensive look at the incoming Arkansas football recruiting class back in March.

There we reported that 12 incoming football players clocked at least a 4.5 in the 40-yard dash. Some ran it even faster.

No doubt that speed will help Arkansas on the football field.

Know where else it could help the Razorbacks? Track.

Arkansas track and field coach Chris Bucknam, during a recent call-in to HogSports Radio's "Morning Drive," detailed the ongoing efforts to develop a mutually beneficial relationship with football. Bucknam said he would be working with football coach Bobby Petrino to work out a deal that would be best for both programs. Granted, there would be some scheduling conflicts, but it might be worth the hassle of trying to figure it all out.

"We're going to work together and see if we can make this thing happen," Bucknam said. "We're excited about it. It has to be a win-win for both of us. That's the only way it's fun if it's a win-win and we feel good about it."

"You're going to see some guys out there running some indoor and outdoor track next year. We're excited about it."
