Jolly Llama, a new manufacturer of superpremium frozen novelties has introduced Jolly Llama Squeezable Whole Fruit Sorbets, a line of individually-packaged squeeze tube sorbets in four flavors-blueberry, acai, strawberry, and mango. The line is described as naturally healthy, dairy-free, and fun to eat.
"We developed Jolly Llama to be a healthier alternative to high-fat ice cream and highly-sugared popsicles," said Jolly Llama President Scott Jacobson. "They not only taste good, they're also all natural, low in calories, and a good source of fiber, so everyone can feel great about enjoying them."
Jolly Llama reports the sorbets are made using top quality fruit that's allowed to fully ripen on the vine, sorted, then pureed and frozen immediately unlike other sorbets that cook their fruit which, according to Jolly Llama, strips the fruit of its nutritional value. Using the whole fruit also negates the need to add concentrates or juices for flavor according to the company. In addition, instead of using corn syrup Jolly Llama sorbets are sweetened with natural pure cane sugar.
Jolly Llama notes that its sorbets are a good sources of fiber (10% RDI or greater) and contain 50% RDI of Vitamins A & C. They're all low-fat or no-fat, gluten-free, contain no allergens, and each tube averages only 85 calories. Its two "superfruit" sorbets (blueberry and acai) are also loaded with antioxidants.
"So many companies churn out junk food for maximum profit," stated Jacobson. "We created Jolly Llama to provide consumers with an alternative to the unhealthy, not-all-that-enjoyable junk food novelties that currently saturate the market."
Jolly Llama Squeezable Whole Fruit Sorbets are available in the freezer section of selected stores. Suggested retail price of each tube is $1.49, with an introductory 2-for-1 offer valid until July 31. Jolly Llama, a privately held company, was launched in June 2008 and is headquartered in Oakland, CA.
