An online poll by Harris Interactive of 2,177 U.S. adults found that 27 percent of the respondents said chocolate is their favorite flavor while 22% each say vanilla and cookie dough/cookies and cream. Twenty percent named butter pecan/Swiss almond as their favorite while 17 percent of Americans say their favorite flavor is mint chocolate chip. Other flavors named as favorites included Rocky Road (14 percent), strawberry (13 percent), cherry vanilla (9 percent), coffee (9 percent), pistachio (8 percent) and peanut butter (8 percent). Only three percent of Americans do not eat ice cream. In addition, the poll found that 45 percent of the respondents say their favorite way to eat ice cream is in a cup while 29 percent say it is in a cone.
