Education foundation established for supplements & functional foods.(Industry News)

The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), Washington, D.C., has created the CRN Foundation, a non-profit educational affiliate that will become the association's center for educational activities and research projects. The CRN Foundation has a six-fold mission: to offer information to consumers about the benefits and safety of dietary supplements and functional food; to conduct research on consumer usage of supplements; to educate healthcare professionals in understanding proper uses of supplements; to provide researchers with understanding of appropriate research models; to promote truthful advertising of supplements through programs that encourage self-regulation by industry members; and to promote rigorous research in assessing health benefits and safety.
