Brett Cummins made a cameo appearance on Fox16 two weeks ago, but don't expect to see him making regular appearances.
Cummins formerly was KARK-TV, Channel 4's, chief meteorologist and filled in for KLRT-TV, Channel 16's, meteorologists on June 25 and 26. One Fox16 meteorologist was sick and the other was out, Chuck Spohn, KLRT's general manager, said.
"We have no plans for a new meteorologist," Spohn said. "If we have to get some qualified person on"--as was the case in late June--"we'll do it. And he was available."
Cummins left KARK in May 2008, though no explanation was given for his separation from the NBC affiliate. He landed a job in Louisiana, calling the clouds a cluster of stations that cover Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Alexandria.
He was let go there because of cutbacks at the station and moved back to Little Rock, where he's seeking employment.
