A small advertising shop has opened in Conway, with the hopes of serving the city's--and region's--small businesses.
Lee Watson opened Clarovista LLC late in 2008 and is now getting the one-man operation up and going. Watson, a 2006 University of Central Arkansas at Conway grad, has the title of chief creative guru. Why such an odd title?
"Why not?" he asked. "When you have your own business, you can be a little quirky."
So far the agency has landed a little business, and Watson said he is in discussions with more clients. Watson has done consulting work with PK's Fashion, a clothing store in downtown Conway, and is helping Timberlake Development & Management Inc. of Heber Springs brand six apartment complexes the company owns, he said.
"We are targeting the morn-and-pop, small- to medium-sized business in central Arkansas, primarily Conway," he said. "We are helping those with no experience in marketing their business."
Of particular interest to Watson, and many ad agencies, are social media and how such Web sites can help, or hurt, business. Social media like Faeebook and Twitter can offer a business great interaction with clients, but a company's owner must know how to use the tools, he said.
"We are focusing on new and social media, helping clients transition their brands into the mainstream world," he said. Social media sites "are certainly good options for business, but a company must ask, 'What is our strategy?'"
