Tetra Pak CPS enjoying a Uniq partnership.(News and Installations)(Brief article)

A long standing relationship, coupled with a reputation for providing high quality capital equipment and turnkey systems, have combined to help Tetra Pak CPS clinch another order with a leading European chilled convenience food group.

The Uniq Group has traded with Tetra Pak CPS for over 10 years, and has just invested in a major expansion of its desserts facility at its St Ivel factory in Minsterley, Shropshire, which will be used to produce an expanded range of dairy desserts.

Tetra Pak CPS were responsible for the 2.8 million [pounds sterling] turnkey project that included interfacing with the customer's existing control system and an extension to their current CIP system.

The heart of the new processing plant is a new 4 tonne/hour desserts pasteurising system, and to optimise costs, a selection of storage tanks, valves, pumps and filling equipment has been relocated from one of Uniq's other sites.

Both the new and used equipment has been incorporated into a complete new process line designed by Tetra Pak CPS. The new line includes the handling of liquid chocolate and sugar which involves mixing and blending, pasteurisation, storage and installation of all the interconnecting pipework and feeds to the filling machines. St Ivel has been consistently impressed with the professionalism, quality of design and high level of workmanship demonstrated by Tetra Pak CPS.

Business Development Manager Paul Griffin said: "We have an excellent working relationship with Uniq, which is going from strength to strength and we will continue to work closely with them in the future, drawing on our extensive experience and knowledge of dessert processing systems."
