BOSENDORFER HAS A LONG tradition of working with famous architects and designers to create visually striking pianos that retain their tone and playability. In the past, the Austrian-based company has worked with crystal maker Swarovski and the architect Hollein. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Audi brand, Bosendorfer recently introduced a streamlined grand piano that picks up on the automaker's distinctive design cues. "The liberal surfaces make for a clear shape; there are no ornaments; the edges and lines are sharply defined, the joints logically arranged--all important aspects of Audi design," said designer Philip Schlesinger, who realized the project in the Audi Konzept Design studio.
