Editors' commentary.(Editorial)(Editorial)

This issue of the Journal of Leadership & Organizational Studies (JLOS) emerges from a partnership between the Midwest Academy of Management and the initial evolution of its journal, Current Issues in Management, to responsibility for editing an annual issue of JLOS. We are proud of our affiliation with JLOS and its status as the official journal of the Midwest Academy of Management and the journal's publication by Sage Publications.

The editorial review board for this issue reflects our organization's commitment to scholarship. We are grateful for their time and service in reviewing for this issue. We also appreciate the guidance and help of Fred Luthans and John Slocum (editors of JLOS), Ken Thompson (associate editor of JLOS), and Julia Teahen (managing editor) in getting this issue to print.

Articles reviewed and selected for this issue reflect academic scholarship on topics of current importance in management. There was no pre-determined theme to this issue, with the accepted articles focusing on a range of management and leadership topics. The issue begins with a piece by Keaton and Smith focusing on distrust in leaders, followed by two articles that address the role of leaders in organizational change (Latta and Gilley, Gilley, & McMillan). Another two pieces focus on the effect of a proactive personality on employee job performance and commitment, one using a Korean sample (Joo & Lim) and the other using a U.S. sample (Gerhardt, Ashenbaum, & Newman). Two other articles address issues of alternative work schedules (Padgett, Harland, & Moser) and work-home conflict (Heilmann, Bell, & McDonald). The issue concludes with a piece by Cundiff, Nadler, and Swan on perceptions of diversity programs.

We invite your comments on this issue. You can find more information about the Midwest Academy of Management and future manuscript submissions of JLOS at http://www.midwestacademy.org. You can also contact me directly at jpeluche@usi.edu.

We hope that you enjoy this issue!
