Probat-Werke von Gimborn Maschinenfabrik GmbH offers a new high-end control solution for medium-sized and large plants. The new version of Pilot Plant Professional improves communication with higher level enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems located upstream and provides for greater flexibility in coffee processing. Using the "Line Control" function, orders can be assigned to defined product lines.
The optimized processes are based on the possible communication with the higher level ERP systems via a predefined data base interface. Due to this simplified linkage, various company work areas are more efficiently interlinked with production. Data access is based on graded user rights. Orders for all production areas can be imported from the ERP system. The control fulfils traceability requirements of the EU Directive 178/2008 and the International Food Standard (IFS). A further important feature for effective quality assurance is the optional "Sample Management," i.e. the management of roasted and ground coffee samples. Users can enter the data of various samples pertaining to moisture, color and degree of grinding, volume and density. A graphic display of these parameters is also possible: The data can be transferred directly into the system from accessory equipment such as Probat's Colorette for measuring the degree of color or the online moisture measuring system and can be optionally depicted in diagram form.
