Aztec Solar Power will install solar panels, Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31, on the roof of Rann Pharmacy which is located in Lower Salford Township, PA. The Montgomery County-pharmacy anticipates their new solar electric system will reduce the business' reliance on traditional electric and will generate numerous environmental benefits -- thus saving the business and local community money, all the while reducing their greenhouse gas emissions by 457 tons of CO 2 over the lifespan of the system.
"We first considered a solar energy alternative when news of electric deregulation spread. However, since we at Rann already make a daily effort to conserve and recycle the decision to go forth and employ a clean energy solution was a natural next-step," said Greg Segner, president and owner of Rann Pharmacy. "Additionally, by keeping the cost of our business operations down, we hope to keep our retail prices down too."
Rann Pharmacy has been family-owned and operated since 1982. The pharmacy recycles over 90% of its waste and has even instituted a medical-recycling program. Rann accepts unused and unwanted medications from the community and disposes of it properly, keeping the medicine out of the water table and from leaking into landfills. The pharmacy is known for its personalized, professional 'service with a smile' and the fact that, unlike most pharmacies, they have a nurse on staff and their pharmacists are certified to administer injections.

They also reuse or recycle any and all incoming material such as paper clips, rubber bands and promotional floor displays. Whatever can not be use is donated or recycled.
