The city of Blytheville is working on a solution to its flooding problem.
It plans to hire an engineer who will develop a set of proposals to relieve the flooding experienced in some parts of the city, said Blytheville Mayor Barrett Harrison.
Harrison said he didn't know how much fixing the drainage problems would cost. But in the late 1990s, one estimate put the cost to repair the city's drainage and streets at $33 million. At the time, only $4 million worth of work was done, Harrison said.
