A Ford Motor Co. executive in Little Rock recently to hawk the new 2010 Ford Taurus said the company had been and remained open to working entrepreneurs to develop new technology.
Lewis Echlin, national car communications manager for Ford, was at the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce to pitch the newest version of Ford's staple sedan. The 2010 model comes with many new bells and whistles and includes technology developed by Ford in collaboration with some smaller, private tech firms.
"We see it as an advantage," Echlin said of working with entrepreneurial firms. "Our B&D is very open to that. Size doesn't matter to Ford. It opens up a lot of interesting new things that the customers want. If an entrepreneur has an idea they know customers are going to get excited about, that's what we want."
