Verve Wireless, which provides publishing technologies to local media businesses, has created the position of chief revenue officer to drive market development.
Verve announced the hiring of advertising veteran Bill Ganon on July 30. Ganon was owner of BG Associates, which focused on mobility, ad revenue and analytics, and before that held senior positions at Qualcomm as vice president of advertising revenue and strategy for MediaFLO USA and vice president for Eudora Products Group.
Verve says that his expertise in mobile media and traditional advertising will offer local publishing partners better ways to increase mobile ad revenues.
Verve said it serves 450 local media properties, including New York Times Regional Media Group and The Associated Press, and in three months increased by 85 percent the amount of local media companies it's brought to the mobile Web.
