Compensation based on insurance policy.(The Case of the Worker Who Lost an Eye)

Wangsa was a victim. Despite considering the seriousness of Wangsa's injury, the employer had threatened and insisted that he tells a lie.

His employer, William Lam, and his supervisor, Wong Ah Loke, should be punished because they had told Wangsa to lie in order to avoid being fined by the authorities. Lam should be jailed for at least one year, and be fined minimum S$5,000. As for Wong, he should be fined a minimum S$3,000. Furthermore, the company's licence should be suspended for not following the safety precautions at work.

If I were the judge for this case, I will compensate Wangsa. As mentioned, he was hardworking and has commitments to his family in China. He has lost one eye during work and this has a big impact on him and his career. To be fair, the sum for Wangsa would be based on the insurance policy. In addition, the company should also compensate him a sum of money, and bear for the cost of the surgery and hospitalisation.
