Suspect still on the run.

A SERIAL road menace who clocked up more than 100 driving offences is still on the run from police, after allegedly turning his hand to robbery. Ian Lambert had been due to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on July 6, to answer robbery charges.

But the 29-year-old, of Scotswood, Newcastle, failed to turn up at court, and he has not been seen since.

Now Lambert is facing jail after breaching a suspended sentence -and police are calling upon the public to help trace him.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "Ian David Lambert, 29, of Scotswood, Newcastle, is wanted on warrant. He is charged with a robbery, which occurred in Newcastle on June 19, 2008.

"He is also wanted on warrant for failing to appear at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on July 10. He is charged with a breach of a suspended sentence." Anyone with any information is asked to ring 03456 043 043.
