ALL this current talk about poor nurses is something that the Josef Goebbels propaganda machine and the architects of the old-style Soviet disinformation programmes would have been proud of.

In their rush to make savings necessitated by the bail out of the banks, Cameron and Brown are going to scrap the NHS over the next two Parliaments, and the only way to achieve this is to destroy public confidence in the organisation. The latest publicity on poor nursing is evidence of this.

Unsubstantiated allegations made by politically partisan groups which focus on non representative cases and public announcements by Tory MEPs and ministers are not aberrations - they are a clear-cut attack on the NHS designed to lower public confidence.

It's time to choose, do we want to continue supporting a banking system which is inherently rotten or do we want to support a health service which has been an overwhelming success for 99% of the population.

IK I AM obviously sympathising with the relatives of the Lockerbie disaster. I would make the point that their case would have been immensely strengthened on demanding no release for the person convicted, if they had not taken the millions of pounds worth of blood money each of them received as compensation from the Libyan government.
