Simmo can't kick that winning habit; Loan star out to preserve perfect record.

NEWCASTLE United loan star Danny Simpson is hoping that he is left with a sense of deja-vu come the end of tonight's Championship encounter with Leicester City.

The former Blackburn Rovers and Ipswich Town loanee Simpson knows nothing but that winning feeling since signing for the Magpies on loan from Manchester United three games ago, having enjoyed a 100% record.

Simpson has made a positive impression on United as the club's only summer signing so far and has also indicated he would like to make the move a permanent one at the end of his loan stint in January.

And, understandably, the Mancunian is keen to make sure he doesn't lose his immaculate tag against the Foxes.

He told the Chronicle: "We're buzzing at the moment and the aim is just to keep this winning streak going against Leicester City.

"If we can get the early goals again we've got a great chance.

"We're at home and we can't allow them to come at us.

"This is a big game for them and we have to start better from the first whistle."

Simpson is expected to switch back to his familiar right-back slot after being fielded as a centre-back against Huddersfield Town in the Carling Cup.

And he believes that providing Newcastle keep up their outstanding work ethic, they can maintain their unscathed record so far, with the chance to stay unbeaten in their first month of life back in the second tier up for grabs.

The player on loan from the Old Trafford giants added: "As long as we keep putting in the effort that we have been doing, we'll keep on picking up points.

"We just can't wait to get out there. We just want to keep that up and the feeling is great.

"Every game at St James's Park is a big one so I can't wait."
