More Resources

Child's play.

CHILDCARE places are still available at North Tyneside Council-run nurseries for next year. Parents of three and fouryear-olds are entitled to 12-and-a-half hours of free early learning and childcare a week, across a minimum of three days, for 38 weeks a year.

Children can take up their free place at nurseries, playgroups, nursery classes and schools. Council-run nurseries in North Tyneside provide high-quality, Ofstedinspected early learning and childcare, led by fullyqualified staff.

Children can benefit from tailored play designed by parents and experts to provide learning activities at a pace that's right for them, provided on a oneto-eight staff-to-child ratio for all three and four-yearolds.

And parents can claim help towards the cost of childcare through tax credits, childcare vouchers and other initiatives.

For information and advice on the range of help available with childcare costs, contact the North Tyneside Families Information Service on 0845 2000 108.
