Morgan Hill Mushroom Mardi Gras held in May.(industry news)

The Morgan Hill California Mushroom Mardi Gras celebrates mushrooms and raises funds for local charities during the Memorial Day weekend in May. Monterey Mushrooms, Inc. participates with an educational display to show how mushrooms are grown. Their mascot, "Monte Mush," greets visitors as they learn that the mushroom industry is the number one employer in Santa Clara County, CA.

The Mardi Gras has evolved through the years from a small hometown get together to a festival that is now attended by 50,000 people throughout the San Francisco Bay area. Proceeds from the festival support many non-profit clubs and organizations as well as scholarships to high school seniors in the Morgan Hill Unified School District.
