MISCHA BARTON has opened up about her recent stay in a psychiatric unit.
The British-born actress was removed from her home last month by police officers and taken to a clinic suffering from what was reported to be a mental breakdown.
But the 23-year-old told Time Out New York that things hadn't got to that stage, though it was "pretty bad".
"I was down in the dumps about everything there for a while. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom about things and have to get the most stressed out just to feel better again," she said. "I got completely stressed out and couldn't handle everything, and now I feel really in control."
A mystery accident that resulted in GEORGE CLOONEY breaking his hand has been explained by his representative.
Reports in European media had suggested that the actor injured himself in a motorcycle accident in Switzerland, but the truth is a little less dramatic - George slammed a car door on his fingers. His rep Stan Rosenfeld told People magazine: "There was an accident and he did break his hand. He was not riding a motorcycle, it was not in Switzerland. He was on his property in Italy and he shut the car door on his hand."
Actress NATALIE PORTMAN has confessed to a love of "dirty" and "obscene" rap music.
The V For Vendetta star was interviewed by JAKE GYLLENHAAL - her co-star in new war movie Brothers -for Interview magazine, who asked her: "What song best describes your current state?" Natalie revealed: "I've mostly been listening to dirty rap lately, that's sort of my scene - really, really obscene hip-hop.
"I love it so much, it makes me laugh and then it makes me want to dance."
Natalie also revealed that the 1980s cartoon The Smurfs scares her.
"Because that bad guy, Gargamel, was so terrifying. I was scared of a lot of cartoons. I'm kind of wussy like that," she admitted.
MICHAEL JACKSON'S waxwork was unveiled at Madame Tussauds in Hollywood ahead of his 51st birthday. General manager Adrian Jones said Michael sat for the casting ahead of the London shows he was set to perform at the O2.
"We'd done a brand new figure in London and fortunately we were able to do a recast of that figure very quickly and get it here to mark his birthday," he said.
"We always planned to do it, we didn't plan to do it so soon, but the guests insisted we did the figure."
PETER ANDRE has revealed that he will be trying out his hand as a showbiz reporter at the Mobo Awards in Glasgow. Speaking at the awards' nominations launch event in central London, the newly-recruited This Morning correspondent said he would be interviewing celebrities backstage at the event - though a spokeswoman for the show could not confirm the claim.
