Tribute match.

A BABY was the star at a charity football match held in memory of his dad who died last year.

A minute's applause in memory of Jamie Vayro preceded a game yesterday between West Rainton and Hallgarth Manor at the village recreation ground at West Rainton, near Durham.

Jamie, 22, who had played football at schoolboy level for Durham County, was found dead at his grandparents' home in West Rainton 13 months ago.

He died from a suspected accidental overdose after having been prescribed medication for depression.

He did not live to see the birth of his son, Jayden James Vayro, but the fivemonth-old baby was taken to his dad's tribute match.
