SUPERMARKET staff were threatened with a shotgun and a machete in the third Bank Holiday raid this year.
Masked robbers burst into the Asda store in Benton, North Tyneside, this morning as staff were restocking shelves.
The raiders threatened staff before making off with tills. One man was arrested following a chase involving police cars and the Northumbria Police helicopter.
It is the third time an Asda store has been raided on the morning after a Bank Holiday Monday this year.
