WHEN you read how Warren Agnew has suffered during his 19 years, the more common illnesses we all complain of pale into insignificance.
Warren suffers from a rare skin condition which means even the slightest touch can cause his skin to blister.
It is the same ailment which brought Jonny Kennedy to the public eye when he appeared in the television documentary The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off.
Jonny died of his condition at the age of 36.
Warren is restricted to the extent that, at times, even walking can be painful, and he is forced to lie still for weeks on end.
His family has told how his childhood and adolescence have been tough, dealing with his condition.
Warren's mum tells of how she had to deal with his blistering skin as a child and, later in life, his schooling was inevitably disrupted.
However, Warren has not been beaten by the condition, as would many people of lesser determination.
He has not finished his sixth-form studies and hopes for a career in the music industry. In the meantime, he and his family are fundraising to help other sufferers of the condition.
You cannot help but admire their fortitude and generosity, and we hope these qualities help Warren lead a happy and successful life.
