AirTran Airways
AirTran Airways announced that it is the first airline in North America to board Icelandic Glacial Natural Spring Water for sale. Icelandic Glacial becomes the second water available for sale in a bottle on AirTran Airways' flights along with glaceau's smartwater[umlaut] -- both of which are available for sale at USD 2 per bottle, and the airline also offers Dasani[umlaut] water poured in a cup complimentary on all flights. AirTran Airways
AirTran Airways announced nonstop service between Harrisburg International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Beginning November 5, flights to Fort Lauderdale will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The route will be flown with 117-passenger Boeing 717 aircraft, featuring 100 percent fresh air, Business Class and Gogo wi-fi service on every aircraft and XM Radio programming at every seat. Frontier Airlines
Frontier Airlines announced a sale with two days of special fares that will get you to destinations out East for as low as USD 39 each way. Sale-priced tickets must be purchased by 9:59 p.m. MDT on July 21, 2009, for travel through Jan. 15, 2010. In addition to the sale fares, Frontier is also giving its customers the ability to choose a fare that best meets their traveling needs. JetBlue Airways
JetBlue Airways today issued the following statement: "The Port Authority recognizes the critical need to enable more efficient aircraft movements at New York-area airports, and has started this important work through its JFK Delay Reduction Program," said Dave Barger, president and CEO of New York's hometown airline, JetBlue Airways. "Improvements to runways and taxiways at JFK are essential to reducing flight delays and increasing the airport's capacity and efficiency. As the largest airline at JFK as determined by the number of customers served and an airline dedicated to providing quality customer service, we at JetBlue look forward to working closely with the Port Authority throughout the duration of these improvements, which will ultimately benefit all customers traveling through the gateway airport." Southwest CEO Gary Kelly did not rule out fees for first and second bags during a Tuesday conference call on SouthwestOs earnings.
