Alamo Rent A Car, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental
Effective Aug. 1, the Taylor family of St. Louis, owner of Alamo Rent A Car, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and National Car Rental, launched a new corporate identity for its growing family of car rental and other transportation businesses: Enterprise Holdings, Inc. Going forward, privately held Enterprise Holdings will serve as the parent corporation that operates Alamo, Enterprise and National, as well as the company's portfolio of other businesses, including commercial fleet management, used car sales, commercial truck rental and WeCar car sharing. Auto Europe has teamed up with local businesses including fresh seafood wholesalers based right outside their Portland, Me., office by extending their Maine rewards program for 2009. This program is valid for reservations now through Aug. 31, 2009, for travel through Dec. 31, 2009. Agents can earn their choice of a L.L. Bean SportsmanOs Accessory Bag, three free lobsters or two pounds of salmon with any business class package booked through their tour division, Destination Europe or with any sports car or prestige self-drive rental, minimum rental period of seven days. Hertz
Connect by Hertz, Hertz's global car sharing club, has significantly expanded its presence throughout Manhattan, increasing the number of locations and fleet size more than 10-fold with the addition of more than 420 cars, situated at more than 170 parking locations. With the increase in fleet, new cars have been added to the company's roster, including the Toyota Yaris, Mazda 6, Volvo C70 convertible and C30 hatchback, and the Volkswagon Jetta and Beatle. The cars suitably fit the OPersonal,O OSocial,O and 'OJetSetO cars currently available, which include the Toyota Prius, Toyota Camry and Mini Cooper, respectively. In addition, with more than 170 new parking locations, cars can be found as far south as Wall Street, as far north as West 91st Street, and everywhere in between.
