AirTran Airways has announced nonstop service between Akron-Canton Airport and two popular vacation destinations in Florida -- Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers. AirTran Airways will offer flights to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport four times per week and flights to Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers five times per week initially and then daily beginning in mid-November. AirTran Airways announced nonstop flights between FlintOs Bishop International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport beginning Nov. 4. The carrier also announced the resumption of daily nonstop flights between Flint and Tampa (flown once weekly during the summer) beginning on Oct. 6, 2009, and the resumption of daily flights to Fort Myers beginning Nov. 9. AirTran has also launched daily nonstop flights between Yeager Airport in Charleston, W.Va., and Orlando International Airport in Orlando, Fla. It has also begun nonstop flights from Lehigh Valley International Airport in Allentown, Pa., to both Orlando International Airport in Orlando, Fla., and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Frontier Airlines
Frontier has announced its fall 2009 schedule. Highlights include increased frequencies to Las Vegas, Phoenix, Sacramento, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. Beginning Sept. 14, 2009, Frontier will add a seventh roundtrip to both Las Vegas and Phoenix and a fourth roundtrip to Sacramento. On Oct. 5, 2009, Frontier will add a second roundtrip flight to both Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, just in time for the fall tourism season in Florida. Also beginning Sept. 14, 2009, Albuquerque, Omaha and Salt Lake City will see additional flights as Frontier's wholly-owned subsidiary Lynx Aviation begins service in these markets, joining the previously announced new Lynx service to Tulsa which starts on Aug. 2, 2009.
