Emirates Airlines

Emirates will fly the A380 to Paris Charles de Gaulle beginning Feb. 1. The carrier currently operates 777s to CDG twice-daily and its five A380s to Sydney, Auckland, Bangkok, Toronto and London Heathrow. Jun 25, 2009

Gulf Air

Gulf Air, BahrainOs national carrier, announced it will launch service to three new destinations -- Aleppo, Alexandria and Salalah -- from Bahrain for the summer season. Service to the Egyptian city of Alexandria started on June 22 with five flights per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Flights to Salalah in Oman will commence on July 1 with three flights per week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Aleppo service will start on July 2 with two flights per week on Thursdays and Saturdays. Flights to all these destinations are from Bahrain and are available through mid-September 2009. Gulf Air and French national railway SNCF signed a codeshare agreement to offer a "TGVair" ticket, enabling passengers to purchase a single ticket for Gulf flights to/from Paris Charles de Gaulle combining travel to/from 19 domestic destinations on the SNCF network. Jun 22, 2009

Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways will start four-times-weekly flights from Doha to Amritsar (Oct. 11) and Goa (Oct. 25). Thrice-weekly service to Melbourne begins Dec. 6, becoming daily early next year. Jun 22, 2009

RwandAir

RwandAir is the new name of the former Rwandair Express. CEO Gerald Zirimwabagabo said the initial phase of a five-year plan recommended the name change because Express "gives the impression of a 'small' point-to-point airline." The carrier plans to implement an online reservation and payment system in August and establish a loyalty program "a few months from now." Jun 25, 2009
