A MOLESTER who launched a campaign of sex attacks on a schoolgirl has been warned he faces jail.
Wayne Garrod began targeting his victim when she was still only 13 years old.
Now Garrod, 25, of Girtin Road, South Shields, is facing a prison term after admitting three offences of sexual activity with a child between November 2008 and June this year.
Judge Brian Forster adjourned sentence for reports to be prepared by a probation officer and experts from a sex offender treatment team.
But he further remanded Garrod, who appeared before Newcastle Crown Court over a video link to Durham Prison, in custody.
And Judge Forster warned him: "Clearly you are in a very serious position.
"You must expect a custodial sentence."
Garrod was told he must sign as a sex offender with the length of time he is to remain registered being fixed at sentence.
He will also be disqualified indefinitely from working with children.
No further details of the offences were given during the brief hearing and Garrod is due back in court next month.
