A TRADITIONAL fete will be revived in a Northumberland village later this month.
Residents of Stocksfield, recently voted North East Village of the Year in a competition run by Calor, were asked by the local parish council how they would like to improve community spirit even further. And they voted overwhelmingly to restore a traditional village fete, which has not been held in the village for more than two decades. A week of entertainment will culminate in the festival day on September 12, which will be held on the sports fields next to Stocksfield cricket club.
Parish councillor and co-organiser Helen Morris said: "The aim is to bring the community together and provide a village party atmosphere with sporting fixtures, live music, and stalls."
