More delays.

ROADWORKS at a busy junction in Durham City are to be extended.

Delays have meant the work to install traffic lights at the junction of Finchale Road and Bek Road, at the entrance to the Newton Hall estate, will not be finished on Friday, September 4, as originally planned.

It is hoped the work will be completed by the end of the following week but this is not yet confirmed.

The work will not be completed before pupils return to school next Monday and drivers are being asked to continue to allow extra time for their journey.

Temporary traffic diversions will remain in place for the duration of the roadworks.
