Glad the Scots stood up to US; YOUR SHOUT.

IN RESPONSE to PG of Killingworth, (and others), who refer to Gordon Brown as "unelected", he is not unelected.

We, the people, vote for a constituency MP who forms part of the government of the day and it is this government that elects its leader.

If that leader resigns or is forced out of office, as sometimes happens, then it is the party that elects a new leader.

Regarding Lockerbie, it is true that many American citizens lost their lives in this atrocity, but this does not give the USA the right to interfere in what is a Scottish matter.

After all, Scots lost their lives too and it was right that this case was tried in Scotland under Scottish Law.

While I personally disagree with the decision to release Al Megrahi, pictured, I applaud the Scottish Government in refusing to bow to pressure from the USA.

It's about time other countries stood up to the bullying tactics of America. Too many times, when the USA cries "jump" the reply is "how high"? I doubt if a boycott would have much of an impact on Scotland: most Americans are quite insular and few have more than a passing interest in politics, especially outside their own country.
