Incidence of pediatric brain tumors is increasing. An optical tracking system for use in spinal surgery has been approved by the FDA. The Epilepsy Foundation has started a women and epilepsy initiative to reach out to such women, their families and their health care providers. Metal detectors and anti-theft systems have been reported to interfere with some nervous system stimulators. Although risk is low, those involved should know about it. Other new developments related to neuroscience nursing are discussed.
