DIRECTLINK CHOOSES REDBACK TO OFFER VALUE-ADDED DSL SERVICES.(Redback Networks, Inc)(Company Business and Marketing)

Redback Networks, Inc., (Nasdaq:RBAK), Sunnyvale, Calif., has announced that DirectLink, one of Dallas' leading broadband Internet service providers, has selected the Redback Subscriber Management System (SMS) 1000 to offer its customers value-added DSL services. DirectLink is using the SMS 1000 to aggregate its business and residential DSL subscribers, enabling them to easily select from a range of service options via a convenient PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) client.

"The Redback SMS system was the only product available that provided the scalability needed to effectively meet the needs of our growing subscriber base and the support required to offer the value-add DSL services that differentiate our organization," said Sean Osborn, president of DirectLink. "Because the SMS 1000 supports standard PPPoE dialup clients, our customers can quickly log into the service most appropriate to their needs, whether it is content filtering, telecommuting, or simply surfing the web."

DirectLink offers a variety of ADSL broadband packages for business and residential customers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. To ensure maximum reliability and speed, the DirectLink Network Operations Center is serviced by multiple high-capacity 155 Mbps OC3 connections and 45 Mbps T3 connections to area Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (ILECs). DirectLink is expanding to offer services to three additional cities over the next few months.
